Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1974. After working in an architect office and a graphic design office, he became a handcraft product designer. He founded his own design firm, Oji & Design in Tokyo in 2004. His designs range from beautifully functional home objects to intricate brass lighting fixtures, and has collaborated with esteem Japanese makers such as Hidetoshi Takahashi and Futagami.
In 2015, he became the juror of the Takaoka Craft Competition. In 2016, he became the chief juror.
